Inhibitory Effect Mediated by Deoxynivalenol on Rumen Fermentation under High-Forage Substrate

چکیده

Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a type B trichothecene mycotoxin produced by Fusarium fungi. To investigate its ruminal degradability and effect on rumen fermentation, 2 × 5 factorial experiment was conducted in vitro with two feed substrates different forage levels (high (HF), forage-to-concentrate = 4:1; low (LF), 1:4) five DON additions per substrate (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 mg/kg of dry matter). After 48 h incubation, the HF group higher than LF (p < 0.01), it decreased along increase concentrations which varied from 57.18% to 29.01% at h. In addition, gas production rate, total VFA microbial crude protein linearly against 0.05). Meanwhile, proportion CH4 fermentation end-products increased linearly, especially 0.01). brief, microorganisms presented 29–57% degradation ability were particularly significant under high-forage substrate. Along increasing toxin decreased, showing dose-dependent response. However, inhibited methane when exceeded matter.

Effect of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines in dairy cows.

BACKGROUND Fifteen lactating Holstein dairy cows were assigned to three diets in a 3 × 3 Latin square design to evaluate the effects of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines. Diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric, with a forage/concentrate ratio of 45:55 (dry matter basis) but different main forage sources, namely cornstalk (CS), Leymus chinensis ...

Effect of fish oil supplementation and forage source on performance, rumen fermentation, nutrient digestion and chewing behaviour of Holstein bulls

Background: Fat supplementation in ruminants ration often adversely affect dry matter intake (DMI), rumen fermentation and nutrients digestion. Basal diet ingredients is an undeniable determinant of ruminants responses including performance, chewing behaviour and nutrient digestibility to fat supplementation. Objective: Current study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Fish oil (FO) supplem...

Effect of Gynosaponin on Rumen In vitro Methanogenesis under Different Forage-Concentrate Ratios

The study aimed to investigate the effects of gynosaponin on in vitro methanogenesis under different forage-concentrate ratios (F:C ratios). Experiment was conducted with two kinds of F:C ratios (F:C = 7:3 and F:C = 3:7) and gynosaponin addition (0 mg and 16 mg) in a 2×2 double factorial design. In the presence of gynosaponin, methane production and acetate concentration were significantly decr...

Comparative digestion, rumen fermentation and kinetics of forage diets by steers and wethers.

Four rumen fistulated wether and beef steers were used to evaluate differences in dry matter digestibility (DMD) between cattle and sheep. They were fed either perennial ryegrass or switchgrass hay at an ad libitum or restricted level for four experimental periods. Significant ruminant species X forage and ruminant species X level of intake (P less than .05) interactions were observed for diges...

Effect of forage particle length on rumen fermentation, sorting and chewing activity of late-lactation and non-lactating dairy cows.

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of varying forage particle length on chewing activity, sorting behavior, rumen pH and rumen fill in late lactation and dry dairy cattle, fed rations with similar physically effective NDF but different mean particle length. Treatments consisted of three diets differing only in geometric mean length of forage: hay (5.40, 8.96 and 77.90 mm, ...
